The gelato artisan goes on to the next step of the Gelato Festival World Masters 2021
Bangkok, 9 September 2019 – Gelato Festival Challenge continues its journey around the world making a stop in Bangkok on September 6TH during the tradeshow FHT – Food&Hotel Thailand (Hall 103) where 5 Thai gelato artisans took part in the sweetest competition of the year hosted by Fieco, Carpigiani distributor for Thailand. The winning flavors are “Summer dream” by Nissaporn Sukontachart from Gelatique in Bangkok (flavor inspired by a famous dessert: lemon tart. It tastes like vanilla custard, but full of citrus flavor. The buttery cornflake makes a good combination with this creamy and citrusy gelato) and “Happy Childhood Memories” by Marina Jonglertjesdawong from Tiftec in Bangkok (gelato with taro root and mascarpone cheese, accomplish with a variety of Thai desserts).
The selected gelato artisans go on to the Asian Finals of Gelato Festival scheduled for 2020 in Singapore. Flavor, structure, creativity and presentation are the four parameters used for the evaluation, highlighting the choice of ingredients, the craftsmanship in elaborating the recipe and the visual impact of the gelato (see below the full list of participants).
The jury was composed of:
1. Mr. Marco Bruschweiler - Committee World Cultural Culinary
2. Mr. Stephane Dabazach - Technician Consultant of Puratos Thailand
3. Mr.Ittiake Kittungool (คุณอิทธิเอก กิตติอังกูล) - Owner of Gelato, Gelateria Di Bangkok and Iceman
